Description
Awakening is a 1000-piece puzzle featuring the art of Mandy Budan.
An abstract, highly colourful landscape painting composed of looping, ribbon-like lines and geometric shapes. Dark, tree-like forms rise through the centre and sides of the scene, while tangled blue curves suggest branches or foliage against a soft sky of pale blues, pinks, and whites. The lower half features vibrant reds, purples, greens, and yellows, creating the impression of a reflective waterway or path illuminated by warm light. Bold black outlines and layered, flowing contours give the artwork a dynamic, modern, almost stained-glass appearance. The overall effect is a stylised woodland scene with a glowing sunset or sunrise reflected through water, rendered in a playful, contemporary abstract style.
In her abstract landscapes, Mandy Budan rearranges the elements of nature. She uses strong colour, discrete shapes and rhythmic patterns to reveal the beauty of nature in unexpected ways. Her inspiration stems from the green spaces in her home province of Ontario, where she looks for an elusive combination of light, colour and shape to stimulate her creative energy.
The puzzle has 1000 pieces and measures 48cm x 68cm when complete.
