Do circular puzzles drive you round the twist?
There aren’t many circular shaped puzzles on the market, especially in 1000 pieces! They often require a bit of a different approach to a standard rectangular 1000 piece puzzle. They can make an interesting change though. Here are our thoughts on Galison’s Circle of Avian Friends.
A different approach….
We thought the best thing to do was to start in the middle (thinking the edges would be tricky) and the puzzle progressed nicely. The pieces in this puzzle are random cut, with an unusual variety of sizes and shapes which we prefer as there’s no chance of the pieces fitting everywhere!
You’ll need a big puzzle board…
A little error we made…we started the puzzle on a standard 1000 piece porta puzzle board, but quickly realised it wasn’t going to fit. However, the puzzle transferred to the 1500 porta puzzle board without mishap, thanks to the well-fitting pieces. Galison use a high percentage of recycled board; the pieces have a gloss finish and the colours are vibrant.
This was a lovely puzzle to complete, it’s a gorgeous design particularly if you love birds! The box is small and square, in a matte-finish with no cellophane seal and could easily be repurposed if you decided to glue and frame the puzzle.
